Hypnosis, in general, is a powerful tool that can be used to help you achieve weight loss and maintain a healthy weight.

While many people believe that weight loss is simply a matter of cutting calories and exercising more, the reality is that there are often underlying psychological and emotional factors that contribute to overeating and unhealthy eating habits.

A proper weight loss programme should do more than talk about calories. Often, we will have to address the ‘feeder’ of emotional eating or change those feelings of reward or comfort with specific foods. We might need to explore some beliefs about food that don’t support you. If you have specific problem foods, we can hypnotically eradicate the cravings.

What separates us from other hypnotherapists is the comprehensive nature of the program. People eat unhealthily for a host of reasons. For us to understand your pattern, we have to understand you. Then we work with your unconscious processes (because your eating is a very non-conscious process or pattern). We are with you every step of the way. we will stay with you for between 3 and 12 months, depending on your needs. Over that time, we might need to work on anxiety, low self-esteem issues, or some other contributing factor. Whatever you need, we will do it.

We want this to be the last weight loss effort you ever have to put in. You still have to do the work, but we make it as easy as it can be.

Hi I’m Lynne and I look forward to working with you to take control of your weight issues and live free.

I am an accredited Psychotherapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist with the International Strategic Psychotherapy Association and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Psychology.

When you come and see me, you are also benefiting from 40 yrs of experience in dealing with people at their most vulnerable. I know how to look after you and create a safe space for you to face your fears and explore a future free of weight issues. Therapy is provided through hypnosis, either in the clinic or in the comfort of your home, via Zoom.

There is a good chance that I can understand some of your struggles as I have had my own weight loss journey. I have been on many diets and food plans where the lost weight would come back, and then some, and eventually I had bariatric surgery. I am now five years post-surgery and the weight has stayed off, thanks to a combination of a change in lifestyle and the addition of hypnotherapy. That’s why I am so passionate about working with you on your journey.

Lifestyle factors need to be taken into account of course but once hypnotherapy is added then so too is a life of certainty, confidence and resoluteness.

How I Treat Weight Loss With Hypnotherapy

Lynne and her patientMany methods regarding weight loss want to talk about your childhood and your past relationship with food. You may be asked to complete food and mood diaries. I won’t. You cannot change your childhood and you cannot change events from the past. But you are not coming to change your past. You are coming to change your future. 

We break down the key components of your relationship with food and you will discover more about yourself.  You will understand that it is not you, but your unconscious patterns. I help you to create a more compelling future free from the shackles of your past habits.

You will start with an introductory program of four weekly sessions.  On completion, we will chat about where to go next. For clients on a weight loss journey, I recommend that you be part of my ongoing coaching program.
